Milagros Guadalupe with Halo
Virgin de Guadalupe, Blessed Virgin Mary, is an important symbol of Mexican faith. She is honored every December 12th with a religious feast day "Dia de la Virgin de Guadalupe". The celebration commemorates her appearance to a peasant, Juan Diego. Our Mexican Milagros Folk Art Virgin de Guadalupe is decorated with traditional silver colored Milagros. Each piece is unique, spiritual and very special. This particular Guadalupe is surrounded by a stunning halo and is an impressive size. Beautifully crafted in Morelia, Mexico. Simply Lovely!
These Mexican handicrafts are made on pieces of wood decorated with metal figures know as "Milagros". This is an old religious tradition, giving thanks for the gifts of the heavens. This craft is represented as Mexican Folk Art. Irregularity in color and shape are characteristics of this craft.
