Very unusual and beautiful "Wood Mermaid with Milagro Decorations"! She is holding her favorite starfish......very fun. She has a loop on back for easy wall mounting. Beautifully crafted in Moralia, Mexico.
These Mexican handicrafts are made on pieces of wood decorated with metal figures know as "Milagros". This is an old religious tradition, giving thanks for the gifts of the heavens. This craft is represented as Mexican Folk Art. Irregularity in color and shape are characteristics of this craft.

Saw some in Mexico recently & wish I had bought one- when I saw yours I was excited to find one I could order. She is beautiful & unique, & arrived quickly. Was surprised to see where your shop was envelop- I grew up nearby in Banner Elk, NC! Thanks so much for your mermaid..:)
